Knowledge resources from the Institute for Autonomy and Governance (IAG), its network and partners are reaching more readers in Zamboanga Peninsula with the opening of two knowledge centers in Zamboanga City and Isabela City.

The new knowledge centers are housed in Ateneo de Zamboanga University and Basilan State College – two esteemed institutions serving the educational needs of the multicultural communities of Zamboanga Peninsula and the Bangsamoro island provinces in the south-western region of the Philippines.

Inaugurated on October 17 and 18, respectively, the centers will serve as information hub for political dialogues and discussions on BARMM and various social issues. Research and knowledge products will be provided in the centers regularly. Students, faculty and development partners can use the resources to align theory with practice or to host knowledge-sharing activities with public institutions and civil society or non-government organizations.  These resources will also enrich references and citations needed by students for their term papers, theses, dissertations and similar requirements. The video conferencing facilities can be used for webinars and online activities.

The knowledge centers are made possible with support from the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID).

IAG implements a broad portfolio of programs that are centered on the promotion of democracy, rule of law, human rights and pluralism as the foundation of sustainable peace and development. These programs operate in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao and the Cordillera Administrative Region.
