The Institute for Autonomy and Governance (IAG) takes immense pride in sharing the resounding success of the recently concluded "Conference on Social Accountability and Transparency: Empowering Communities, Enhancing Governance, Social Accountability, and Transparency in the BARMM." Organized by the Coalition for Social Accountability and Transparency (CSAT) in partnership with IAG and with support from Australian Aid, this groundbreaking event brought together passionate individuals, advocates, experts, Members of the Parliament of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA), and change agents from across the region.

Held on June 26-27, 2023, in Davao City, the conference served as a dynamic platform for fostering dialogue and collective action to promote accountability and transparency in governance. The event showcased thought-provoking speeches, engaging panel discussions, best practice sharing, and interactive workshops. Esteemed speakers and panel discussants shared invaluable knowledge and insights, inspiring all attendees.

A notable outcome of the conference was the adoption of the "MANIFESTO ON SOCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY AND TRANSPARENCY," reflecting a collective commitment to advancing the principles of accountability and transparency in the BARMM. The manifesto aims to ensure inclusive, accountable, and transparent governance for sustainable peace and development.

Moreover, the conference facilitated networking and collaboration, enabling like-minded individuals and civil society organizations to unite around a shared vision of meaningful participation in Bangsamoro Governance. Participants enthusiastically called for a more inclusive, accountable, and transparent government to improve their communities' well-being.

IAG expresses profound gratitude to CSAT for organizing this impactful event. The Institute also extends heartfelt appreciation to all the participants, Members of the Parliament of the BTA, speakers, and panel discussants for their active engagement and invaluable contributions, which played a pivotal role in the conference's success.

Furthermore, IAG sincerely thanks Australian Aid for their generous support, which made this conference possible. Their commitment to promoting social accountability and transparency in the BARMM is deeply valued.

Moving forward, IAG remains dedicated to continued collaboration with CSAT, partners, and stakeholders in creating a lasting impact toward sustainable development and genuine peace in the region.
