Position: Project Technical Officer (PTO)

Based in Zamboanga City and with field work across Sumisip, Maluso, Tabuan Lasa, Hadji Muhtamad and Lantawan in Basilan Province.

Position reporting to Project Manager

Overall purpose of the position: Assist the Project Manager and serve as Communication Officer

Project Brief, Funding Agency, and Implementing Organization: The “Modelling Inter-LGU Alliance in Basilan” Project sprung from a five (5) Basilan local government units wanting to establish a development platform to address common issues and concerns, and is an 18-month project funded by Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional Para el Desarrollo (AECID), the Spanish International Cooperation Agency for Development in the Philippines and implemented by the Institute for Autonomy and Governance (IAG).


Responsibilities

1. Assist the Project Manager in the technical deliverables of the project and lead in the day-to-day administrative function of the project.

2. Work with the concerned LGUs through the Western Basilan Alliance (WBA).

3. Serve as a Communication Officer of the project and confident working with a broad range of stakeholder.

4. Be part of the team as well as work independently with minimal supervision and on time accomplishment of deliverables with quality up to the AECID standards.
 

 

Technical Competence /Qualification

1. University-level degree relevant to social work, public administration, communication and related discipline.

2. Minimum of two-year technical work experience.

3. Able to converse and write news articles in English or lingua franca.

4. Computer literate, e.g. conversant in MSWord and Excel, use the internet, and create and manage weblog.

5. Have experience working in the insular ARMM environment and able to speak Sinug, Sinama or Iyakan.
