The Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Philippines Office and the Institute for Autonomy and Governance (IAG) are launching today the EU-financed Project DEPAdev Bangsamoro.

The overall aim of the Democratic Party Development Project (DEPAdev) is to contribute to the establishment of a pluralistic political landscape within the future autonomous Bangsamoro entity. For this non-partisan approach, seminars and training activities will be implemented for existing political parties, members of civil society groups and members of both, religious and non-religious groups throughout Mindanao in 2016.

The project is managed by KAS Philippines Office in Makati City, jointly implemented by IAG in Cotabato City and funded by the European Union.

The DEPAdev Project will be officially launched during a public conference at the Mayuree II Meeting Room of Dusit Thani Manila on Thursday, January 28, 2016. This marks the start of the implementation phase.

Secretary Teresita Deles, Professor Miriam Coronel-Ferrer, Chairman Mohagher Iqbal, Congressman Rufus Rodriguez, Governor Mujiv Hataman among other experts have been invited to share their views on the role of politics, governance and decentralization in advancing the peace process in southern Philippines.
