Dureza encouraged the DELACSE Bangsamoro Project organizers to continue to be at the forefront in promoting genuine, dignified and sustainable peace for the Bangsamoro and the rest of the country.

Helping the people of the Bangsamoro understand government processes will ensure that they can participate in policy-making to address their needs and prevent political dynasties from exerting power over the region.

CSOs play a powerful role in connecting stakeholders with key decision-makers. It is imperative for CSO leaders from various sectors to communicate interests of their constituents to local and national government and political leaders so that the future Bangsamoro political entity may finally bring lasting peace and stability in Mindanao.

This event — the third and final in the consultation series — is supported by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation and implemented by IAG through the 18-month “Modeling Inter-LGU Alliance for Basilan” (MILAB) Project.

The Senate approved on first reading Monday Senate Bill 1678 or the bill that seeks to establish an autonomous region in the Cordillera which will serve as the Senate version of House Bill 5343 or the proposed autonomy law pending with the House of Representatives.
