This participatory meeting, organized by the PDP-Laban Federalism Institute, the Institute for Autonomy and Governance, the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA) and the Constitution Transformation Network at Melbourne Law School, will provide a platform for open dialogue between high-level national experts, political leaders, comparative constitutional design experts and experts from relevant countries in the region to discuss salient issues pertaining to the current debates on constitutional change in the Philippines. The meeting will discuss renewed debates in the Philippines on a transition to a federal constitution, and possible changes in the system of government, with comparative insights from experts from other countries in the Asia-Pacific region on key design questions based on their own experiences.

 

The roundtable will be on 5 October 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to be held at the House of Representatives, Quezon City. This event is strictly by invitation.
